I'm frequently anxious or stressed about one thing or another, so I thought I'd share some of my favorite products and techniques that help with my anxiety or stress. Over time, I've tried countless things to help me feel calmer and I've come up with five of my favorites:
I've talked about this before, but it's surprisingly helpful so I have to tell you again! I put a few drops of lavender essential oil on it and it retains the smell for around 8 hours. I've used it at school, meetings, when I'm overwhelmed in general, and so much more. It's one of the most helpful products I own, not to mention, it's super cute!
I've definitely had trouble falling asleep because of anxiety or stress before, but my weighted blanket helps me feel calm and tired. It's also really warm and comfortable! I got it for Christmas and it has helped me sleep so much better.
3. Calm App
This app is so cool, and you can even use it for free. You do have to pay for a subscription if you want all of the stories and exercises, but I honestly think it's worth it. It's really helpful if you're into meditation, and also if you just need a good breathing exercise. You can find out more here.
4. Chewing Gum
Okay, this might sound a little bit weird, but I am always chewing gum. I always have gum in my mouth or in my bag. It helps me stay calm and almost gives my brain something else to focus on. I'm not entirely sure what it is, but having gum in my mouth has helped me get through so many overwhelming or stressful situations.
5. Spire Stone
Honestly, I haven't even tried this product but I ordered it and I'm super excited to try it (I'll update this post if I end up not liking it)! The Spire Stone clips onto the waistband of your pants and tracks your breathing. It vibrates when your breathing is tense and helps you remember to control your breathing before you spiral into panic mode. I'm looking forward to trying it and I hope it helps me as much as I want it to!
Those were five of my favorite products and techniques I use to help control my anxiety and stress. However, it's important to remember that everyone is different and everyone deals with anxiety or stress in different ways. These ways work well for me and I hope they work well for you too!
